Spray Drying
Spray Drying is a unique method to convert a solution, suspension or emulsion into a solid powder format in one step. It is a widely established process in many industries such as food&feed, pharmaceutics, chemistry or material science.
Buchi offers Spray Driers in the laboratory scale since more than 25 years. These instruments are used for first trials, feasibility studies, parameter optimization and production of small powder batches. Whether the requirement is the gentle drying of natural product dyestuffs, the isolation of highly effective pharmaceutical agents or the micro-encapsulation of flavours - the Mini Spray Dryer's outstanding features greatly extends the number of applications that are possible with a spray drying process.
The Mini Spray Dryer can be extended to a closed-loop condition to safely work with organic solvents under inert conditions. The Inert Loop B-295 is a complementary instrument to work clean the nitrogen in the closed cycle from solvent and permanently monitoring pressure and oxygen concentration. The new Dehumidifier B-296 is a versatile instrument to work in closed mode, to condition inlet air or to cool the gas for spray chilling.
Buchi offers a wide range of accessories to build up a complete lab-scale system tailored to your requirements.
